The Singleton

Cassie's last litter turned out to be a single pup. Unable to trigger labor, the pup was delivered by Caesarian. Cassie couldn't nurse her but tried to be at least a part-time mother.

The full-time mother was me (Julie) and she lived under my shirt and under our covers for the first few weeks. Without the puppy pile, it is hard for one to stay warm. Then there is the feeding, cleaning, stimulating her to eliminate...

But it makes a unique opportunity and a unique pup. "Birdy" was very people oriented, crate trained, smart and already started on her house training by the time she was 8 weeks old.
